Connecting Threads Account

Connect your Threads account to Zirora Pulse for social media management

Important Notes

⚠️ Threads accounts are connected via Instagram. You must have an Instagram account to use Threads.

Prerequisites

Before connecting:

  • An active Instagram account
  • Threads app installed and account created
  • Instagram account linked to Threads
  • Business or Creator Instagram account (recommended)

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Access Accounts Page

  1. Log into Zirora Pulse
  2. Click Accounts in the sidebar
  3. Click "Add New Social"

Step 2: Select Threads

  1. Choose Threads from the platform list
  2. You'll be redirected to Threads/Instagram authorization

Step 3: Instagram Authorization

  1. Log in to your Instagram account

  2. Review requested permissions:

    • threads_basic: Basic Threads functionality
    • threads_content_publish: Post to Threads
    • threads_manage_replies: Manage replies
    • threads_read_replies: Read thread replies
  3. Click "Allow" to grant permissions

Step 4: Complete Setup

  1. After authorization, you'll return to Zirora Pulse
  2. Your Threads account will appear in the Accounts list
  3. You can now post and schedule Threads content

Permissions Required

Threads API Permissions

  • threads_basic: Basic profile and content access
  • threads_content_publish: Create and publish threads
  • threads_delete: Delete threads (future feature)
  • threads_manage_replies: Moderate and reply to comments
  • threads_read_replies: Read and monitor replies

Instagram Connection

Since Threads uses Instagram's infrastructure:

  • Instagram profile access
  • Linked accounts verification

Threads-Specific Features

Post Characteristics

  • Text Posts: Up to 280 characters
  • Media Posts: Images and videos supported

Content Guidelines

  • Conversational tone recommended
  • Direct engagement encouraged
  • Media-forward content performs well
  • Community-focused discussions

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

"No Threads Account Found"

  • Ensure Instagram account is linked to Threads
  • Verify Threads app is installed and set up
  • Check if Instagram account is business/creator type
  • Make sure Threads account is not deactivated

"Cannot Post to Threads"

  • Verify account has posting permissions
  • Check if account has posting restrictions
  • Ensure content meets Threads guidelines
  • Verify internet connection

"Instagram Login Required"

  • Threads requires active Instagram session
  • Re-login to Instagram if prompted
  • Check Instagram account status

Error Messages

"Permission Denied"

  • Re-check granted permissions
  • Ensure all required scopes are approved
  • Try re-authenticating the account

"Account Not Linked"

  • Verify Threads is properly linked to Instagram
  • Check within Threads app settings
  • Re-link accounts if necessary

Timing Strategy

  • Best Days: Tuesday through Thursday
  • Peak Hours: 10 AM - 2 PM (local time)
  • Frequency: 1-2 threads per day maximum
  • Engagement: Monitor and respond within 2 hours

Re-authentication

Threads tokens may require refresh. To re-authenticate:

  1. Go to Accounts page
  2. Click ⋮ on the Threads account
  3. Select "Re-authenticate"
  4. Follow Instagram/Threads authorization flow

Account Management

Multiple Threads Accounts

If you manage multiple Threads accounts:

  1. Each requires separate Instagram connection
  2. All accounts appear separately in Zirora Pulse
  3. Can post to multiple Threads accounts simultaneously

Removing Threads Account

To disconnect:

  1. Go to Accounts page
  2. Click ⋮ on the Threads account
  3. Select "Remove Account"
  4. Confirm removal

Note:

  • Threads posts are permanent once published
  • Scheduled threads will be canceled
  • Historical data remains in analytics

  • Images: Up to 4 images per thread (5MB max size for each image)
